Honor Code

The so called “Honor Code” establishes a set of fair play rules for the preparation of programming exercises.
The Honor Code’s aim is to ensure a fair jugdement of each one’s work while at the same time allowing a fruitful atmosphere of collaboration.
The point is that everyone benefits from working in an atmosphere of mutual trust. A person, however, who does not adhere to that code by stealing the work of others by plagiarism, is essentially not playing fair with those others. This poisons the atmosphere of collaboration.
Please keep in mind that the challenging activity of programming does come easily to very few people. In fact it does come with a great deal of work and commitment. For example, the workload of this course is estimated at 13 hours per week, about one third of your total workload. At the same time, computers are everywhere nowadays and knowing how to program them will let you do amazing things. This is true, unless you steal from the work of others.
For those reasons, the department takes the Honor Code very seriously. Please sign the Honor Code to express your consent with it.
