Cross Sections

Discrete Data | | Bilinear Interpolation

Tomography generates cross sections of an object.

  • A computer tomography scanner produces cross-sections in x/y direction
  • The scanned object is displaced along the z-axis
  • Thus the scanner delivers a stack of gray scale images making up a volume.

The in-plane resolution mostly differs from plane-to-plane distance.
