With WI (Wash-In) tumors are visualized particularly well, because tumor tissue not only shows the highest intensity values but also the fastest saturation due to their extremely good perfusion. Therefore the contrast agent is absorbed very quickly, and the derivative in time of the contrast agent curve has extremly high values:
