Colors are an indispensable tool for visualization purposes. Unfortunately the output of most medical devices, like CT or MRT scanner, consists of scalar values, that is gray-scale values.
Color-mapping is the task of assigning artistic colors to the visualization data. The main purpose is to make data values of different type or area immediately discernible from others by varying color.
